Aglaonemas are tropical ground plants. They are native to the jungles of south-east Asia and thrive in warm, moist, partially shaded locations. The Aglaonema loves to be sprayed with water occasionally.

The Aglaonema is a beautiful plant. The ‘Maria’ has bright green leaves patterned in different stunning shades. It truly is a work of art created by Allah.

Classified by NASA as one of the top ten trees to clean the air of harmful toxins.

Aglaonemas are classified under Araceae and grow wild in the tropical rain forests of South East Asia.

They’ve been ‘rediscovered’ and make fabulous houseplants for those shady corners.

There are already quite a few cultivars available with a variety of leaf shape and color.

Temperature :

Aglaonemas are tropical ground plants. They are native to the jungles of south-east Asia and thrive in warm, moist, partially shaded locations.  keep away from cold winter drafts and air conditioners.

Lighting preference :

Prefers medium to low light, making it ideal for indoor spaces. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the silvery leaves.

 Irrigation of water :

Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep soil lightly moist but not soggy. Reduce watering in winter.

 Humidity :

Enjoys moderate to high humidity. Mist occasionally or place near a humidifier for best results.

Fertilization and feeding :

Feed once a month in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. No need to feed in winter.

 Flowering :

Can produce small, white spathe-like flowers indoors, but is mainly grown for its attractive silvery-green foliage.

 Soil :

Prefers well-draining, peat-based potting soil mixed with perlite.

 Toxicity :

Toxic to cats, dogs, and humans if ingested. Can cause mouth irritation and stomach upset.

 Pot Size :

Grows well in medium pots with drainage. Repot every 2–3 years when roots crowd the container.

Pruning :

Remove yellow or damaged leaves. Trim older stems to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth.

 Diseases :

Prone to root rot if overwatered. May also attract mealybugs, spider mites, or scale.

 Air Purification :

Excellent air purifier, effective in removing toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde.
