Multiple stems emerge from its base, with numerous long, gracefully arching fronds growing close together along the stems. Leaves are pinnate, ie feather shaped
This ornate Gold palm comes from the tropics and does require some light and moisture. But for that, it gives you tropical air in return.

Areca Palm is sometimes known as Dypsis lutescens or Areca lutescens, more common names include Butterfly Palm, Yellow Palm and Golden Cane.

Temperature: The Areca Palm enjoys a light spot with morning or evening sun. Average household temperatures between 15-25°C are fine, although the warmer the better. Will not tolerate temperatures below 10°C.
Lighting preference : Tolerant of both light shade and bright, indirect light, however avoid excessive amounts of either.
Electrical lighting: it does Well in offices or fluorescent lighting
Irrigation of water: The Areca Palm needs water once or twice a week for optimum growth . The soil must be constantly moist, but the Gold palm should not be waterlogged.
The Dypsis Lutescens needs a rest period in November and December. Then water less and don’t fertilise
Humidity : Good air humidity of 60 to 70 percent is also important. Otherwise, the leaf edges may dry out. When the air is dry, spray the leaves once or twice a day.
Air Purifying : Palms clean and improve air quality by filtering formaldehyde, benzene and carbon monoxide toxins from the surrounding environment.
Fertilization and feeding: Add a hydroculture liquid feed every 2 to 3 waterings during spring/summer.
Pot Size : Fits in a pot with a 35-37cm external diameter
