————-

Temperature :

Thrives in warm indoor temperatures between 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and avoid temps below 12°C.

Lighting preference :

Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light but avoid direct sun which can scorch the leaves.

 Irrigation of water :

Keep the central “cup” (rosette) filled with fresh water. Change it regularly to prevent stagnation. Water the soil lightly, keeping it just barely moist.

 Humidity :

Loves high humidity. Mist the leaves regularly or place near a humidifier for best growth.

Fertilization and feeding :

Use a diluted liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer, applied directly into the central rosette.

 Flowering :

Produces a striking, colorful flower bract that can last for several months. Once the flower fades, the mother plant slowly dies but produces “pups” (baby plants) at the base.

 Soil :

Prefers a light, fast-draining bromeliad or orchid mix.

 Toxicity :

Non-toxic to pets and humans. Safe for households.

 Pot Size :

Does well in small pots as the root system is shallow. Repot pups into their own containers once they are big enough.

Pruning :

Remove faded flower bracts and dead leaves. Cut back the mother plant once it has finished producing pups.

 Diseases :

Generally hardy, but overwatering can cause root rot. Watch for mealybugs or scale on the leaves.

 Air Purification :

Helps improve indoor air quality slightly, but primarily valued for its vibrant, long-lasting blooms.
